About

We’re just an average family in an average small town in California but we don’t want to raise our children to be average.

We are Peter and Debbie and our Children are Rebekah (7), Caleb (5) and Hannah (1).

Our aim is to teach our children not just to know some cute little phrases and sayings but to live them – and want to live them.

Two important rules we are teaching our children at the moment are:

  • Do unto others what you would have them do to you
  • and…
  • Love your neighbor as yourself.

If we can teach them to hold those ‘rules’ at the very core of their being, then we know that we will be raising children who are nowhere near average. We’ll be raising children who will make such a difference that they will change their communities and maybe even the world.

It’s easy for us to all think that we have nothing to give and indeed, as a family, we have often struggled to see what we can give when money is tight. That’s why we are launching out together on a voyage of discovery to learn what we do have to give, be it our money, time, talents, energy or whatever else we discover.

We have created this site, NothingToGive.com to try to inspire others to set out on the same journey as us. We know we’re not alone in thinking we have nothing to give and hopefully we can show you that you do have something to give and whoever and wherever you are, no matter how young or old you may be, you can make a difference.

I hope you’ll stick with us and follow us on this journey and that you’ll find inspiration in what we learn.
